RCCK takes part in kayak competitions all over France!

🏁 Competitive Kayaking: Speed, Tricks, and Fun!

Kayaking isn’t just about peaceful paddling or going downriver with friends. It’s also a real high-level sport, with its own disciplines, rules… and plenty of thrills!

🚩 The Disciplines

RCCK competes in the following disciplines:

🌀 Slalom

The goal? Paddle down a whitewater course while passing through suspended gates. Don’t touch them—penalties apply! It’s a mix of speed, precision, and perfect river reading.

RCCK travels all over France to compete in local, regional, and national competitions, such as in Asfeld (Ardennes), Troyes (Aube), and even in Alsace, …

🕒 Downriver Racing

Here, the clock is your only opponent. The aim is to go as fast as possible on a timed section of river. There are two formats: sprint, for explosive power, and classic, for longer distances.

RCCK traditionally takes part every year in the Ardèche Marathon, reserved for the most seasoned kayakers.

⏱️ Sprint Racing (Flatwater)

Sprint racing is a paddle sport focused on performance. It’s similar to track & field races, with short or longer distances.

💬 In Summary

Competitive kayaking is a mix of sport, technique, and spectacle. It’s also a great way to challenge yourself and experience the river in a whole new way. So—ready to take the plunge?
