Do I need experience to rent a kayak?
No, we offer kayaks suitable for beginners. Our team will give you basic instructions before you head out.
What should I wear for kayaking?
Wear quick-drying clothes appropriate for the weather. Avoid cotton, as it stays wet. Bring sun protection, water shoes or sandals with heel straps, and a change of clothes for after the activity.
Can I bring my dog in the kayak?
Yes, dogs are allowed in certain kayaks. Please let us know when booking so we can provide a suitable kayak.
What happens in case of bad weather?
If weather conditions are unsafe for kayaking, we’ll contact you to reschedule. We closely monitor the weather for your safety.
Where do the rentals take place?
RCCK kayak and canoe rentals take place on the Aisne river, in the Rethel area (southern Ardennes). You can explore the river from Seuil to Rethel, or from Rethel to Château-Porcien.
What’s the difference between a kayak and a canoe?
At RCCK, we offer sit-on-top kayaks (where you sit on top of the boat, easy to handle with a double-bladed paddle) and open 'barge-style' canoes (more spacious and perfect for two people or family outings, using a single-bladed paddle).
