Learning Kayaking in a Pool: A Safe and Effective Method

Kayak training in a pool=

🏊 Why Learn Kayaking in a Pool?

Learning kayaking in a pool means enjoying a safe environment: no current, pleasant water temperature, and constant supervision. It’s the perfect setting for your first paddle strokes without stress, and without the fear of capsizing in cold or rough water.

Progress is fast, since you can repeat movements as many times as needed. And best of all, it’s perfect in winter — you can keep training even in the cold season!

🛶 Techniques You Can Learn in a Pool

The pool is the perfect place to practice technical moves in complete safety. You’ll learn how to get in and out of the kayak, from the edge or the water, how to maintain your balance using lateral support strokes, and how to master the eskimo roll — that essential technique to recover after capsizing.

It’s also the perfect place to refine your paddle techniques: forward, backward, or even sweep strokes.

🧑‍🏫 Who Is It For?

Pool kayaking is great for everyone!

Kids from 8 years old can gently discover the sport.

Beginner adults can learn at their own pace.

Experienced paddlers can have fun and work on their techniques.

And for us, it’s a great training tool during the winter months.
